EIVISSA WILDE II
Author's Note: Ever heard of the "loudness war"? Eivissa Wilde II is a victim, for better or worse. When people put this mix on, I wanted them to feel it rather than hear it. At the time I was really curious about pushing sonic amplitude and found that a house mix would be the best testing ground; especially the follow-up to my first house mix. Eivissa Wilde II is probably too loud, but I achieved what I set out to do and am happy with it. Also, this is another case where the cover art indiscreetly reveals my inspiration at the time—Drive was my favorite movie of 2011. It had not a modicum of musical influence on the mix, but I couldn't resist attempting to recreate that film's soundtrack album art.
